Learn the best way to clean your Galaxy Z Fold5 case, prevent yellowing, and keep your Tough Clear case looking new with simple daily habits.
Quick answer
To keep your Galaxy Z Fold5 case clean and clear, wipe it down regularly with a soft, damp microfiber cloth and mild soap, and avoid prolonged sun exposure to slow yellowing.
Why clear cases turn yellow and how to slow it down
Clear cases naturally yellow over time due to UV light and oils from your hands. While no clear case is completely immune, you can slow the process by keeping it away from direct sunlight when not in use and cleaning it often.
The Tough Clear case from Case-Mate is built with anti-yellowing technology, which helps it stay clearer longer than standard clear cases. Still, regular care makes a real difference.
What to avoid when cleaning your foldable phone case
Avoid harsh chemicals like bleach, alcohol, or ammonia-based cleaners. They can strip the coating and make the case look dull or even cause it to crack over time.
Also, don't use paper towels or rough scrubbers. They can leave micro-scratches that trap dirt and make the case look cloudy.
Step-by-step cleaning routine
- Remove the case from your phone: Take off the case carefully to avoid stretching the corners. This lets you clean both the case and the phone's edges. Check for dust or debris trapped between the case and phone while it's off.
- Wipe with a soft, damp cloth: Use a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water. If needed, add a drop of mild dish soap. Avoid soaking the case. Never submerge the case in water for long periods; it can weaken the material.
- Dry and reassemble: Dry the case with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. Make sure it's completely dry before putting it back on your phone to prevent moisture buildup. Let the case air dry for a few minutes if you're not in a hurry.
